But its really on some street sh*t.

Toosie Slide‘ was initially introduced to the general public via Instagram, championed with choreographed cavorting and synchronized pirouettes by the incredibly gifted Toosie, Hiii Key, Ayo and Teo – four 20-year-old dancers endowed with global influence.

The novel coronavirus outbreak has awakened humanities innate desire for social interaction and interpersonal communication, subsequently resulting in a heightened level of appreciation for the arts. With social-media influenced challenges surfacing each day and the daunting task of mastering the next dance craze looming ahead, Drake provides instruction over an upbeat production by Ozan Yildirim (Oz) to up the score – and to be frank, he doesn’t miss.

Earlier this week, a familiar voice chanted ‘right foot up, left foot slide, left foot up, right foot slide‘ and the TikTok-ready dance was born.

TikTok has virtually rendered the industry powerless, birthing a generation of memes and dance challenges that directly impact artists streams and visibility. Amid this growing notion of a digital renaissance becoming more prominent, influencers and entertainers alike are in high demand more than ever before.

Collectively, the four tastemakers managed to choreograph the ‘Toosie Slide’ in under 45 minutes, a fitting response to Drake’s mystifying request.

The song serves as one of many Drake releases this year, taking role as his first lead single of 2020. Drizzy has also carved out guest-verses on a pair of notable singles, Future’s ‘Life Is Good’ and Lil Yachty’s ‘Oprah’s Bank Account‘ feat. DaBaby.

Aside from the worldwide mental strain currently consuming the minds of a quarantined society, at least we get the chance to two-step from the comfort of our living quarters.
