Brent Faiyaz debuts his sophomore studio album with releasing Fuck The World.
The soulful, often misguided songster croons sensual pleasures over a unique desire to escape the abridged version of a problematic past riddled with uncertainty.
Fuck The World finds Brent on the brink of self-reflection, transcending the art of interpretation associated with exploring a clouded judgement stemming from misfortune and a sense of pithy falsehoods. Serving as the follow-up to 2017’s Sonder Son, Brent’s latest solo-project is ten tracks deep and riddled with obscure visions of a better life espoused by more sex and exorbitant articles of clothing.
The 24-year-old Maryland native demonstrates the depth of his multifaceted musical styling with transitioning between whimsy remarks and plain-spoken jargon that reiterates his expressive resentment for personal shortcomings.
Although the entirety of Fuck The World covers the span of 26 minutes in length – it’s a smooth listen nonetheless and flows cohesively in alignment with the subject matter at hand.
