Lil Wayne is back with new music!
The wait is finally over. After years of anticipation, Lil Wayne’s Funeral album is slated to arrive next week. On Thursday, Weezy took to Instagram to announce that the new album would arrive on January 31st. The post also included a unreleased snippet of Wayne singing, “Welcome to the funeral. Closed casket as usual.”
Die hard Lil Wayne fans can pre-order digital and physical copies of Funeral now. In addition to the new project, Wayne is also selling a handful of merchandise via his online store. The items for sale include graphic long-sleeves, tees, hats, hoodies, and more. Head here to place your order.
Back in August 2019, Wayne opened up about the process of adding the finishing touches to Funeral during an interview with Q93’s Wild Wayne, “You know how it work. My album’s always done. It just takes Mack to come in there to rack up a couple of songs and name them. That’s how it go round here. I work every day. It just take them to come in and say ‘let me get these 20 songs, can I have these and name them, and we go from there.”
Funeral serves as the followup to 2018’s Tha Carter V.
