Wiz Khalifa, Dom Kennedy, & More Join Warm Brew on ‘New Content’ LP

by inyaearstaff

California trio Warm Brew have unleashed their dynamic album, New Content.

Packed with luscious recent releases, including ‘Butane’, and ‘Psychedelic’ – a slick aural embodiment of the L.A trio’s West-Coast grooves – the album is packed with retro-sounding synth sounds and warm chord patterns, solidifying the trio’s reputation as one of the most widely acclaimed acts in hip hop right now.

Wittily lyricised with the vocals of Warm Brew members Ray Wright, Manu Li, and Serk, ‘New Content’ features a range of collaborations, including with Ackrite, Jay Worthy, Diamond Ortiz, Wiz Khalifa, and Dom Kennedy – with Warm Brew opening for the latter on his upcoming tour.

“We felt this album is something the fans deserve,” add Warm Brew. “That’s why there’s so many songs on there. We want to give something back to the fans.”

Amassing almost 2 million Spotify streams on previous track ‘I Swear’, the group are best known for their eclectic 6-track Diagnosis EP, a production made up of their sumptuous Cali tones, which have earned the trio an army of coastal followers.

Offering an organic dynamic, the group pride themselves on how refreshingly unique their sound, and vibe, comes across, with West Hollywood’s Roxy soon selling out when the trio rolled in. Warm Brew are the artists who best express the community’s joys, hopes, and anxieties. “We’re the Ghetto Beach Boyz” adds Serk, referring to the title of their 2015 album.

Previously working with Dom Kennedy after he heard ‘Wanna Get High’ from the group’s 2013 album The Ride, the group’s contemporary, crepuscular G-funk continues to amass a huge fan-base all over the world, with the smooth jazz tones of ‘Small Victories’ contrasting the more thunderous tones found in areas of New Content.

Displaying their artistic diversity across the album’s 17 tracks, the release of New Content precedes a hectic upcoming tour schedule for the trio, with Warm Brew set to play dates across the US through December.
