PARTYNEXTDOOR is secure with his label.

PARTYNEXTDOOR is currently embarked on his “Summer’s Over Tour”, but he managed to free up a little time for an interview with Power 98 FM in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his conversation with the radio station, PND discussed everything from the pros and cons of the music industry to writing songs for Rihanna.

PND says his label, October’s Very Own (OVO), shields him from the negative aspects of the industry, “I would like to say that OVO, me being on OVO, they kinda protect me from the industry, so I’m not around it… I’m not around it unless I choose to be, or unless I ask to be. I wish I had more to say about that, but I’m literally at home making my own music, unless I ask to be in somebody’s house writing music for them.”

He also discussed how he wrote “Work” and “Sex With Me” for Rihanna. PND basically sat down with Rih Rih at her home and interviewed her about her life – then used some of the stories she told him as inspiration for the songs. According to PND, it’s easier for him to write for others because he can use his imagination. When he writes for himself he feels obligated to tell the truth.
