Donald Trump is now the 45th president of the United States.

On Wednesday, after a long and intense race, Donald Trump has secured the spot as America’s new president. Many had hopes of Hilary Clinton becoming the first female president in this nation’s history, but unfortunately, she was defeated by Trump.

Trump won big in Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, and Pennsylvania – eventually beating Clinton with a total of 276 electoral votes, against her 215 in the end. The 70 year old real estate agent and reality star has no prior political experience, but that didn’t stop him from winning the majority of votes.

In his victory speech, Trump stated, “We must reclaim our country’s destiny. We’re going to dream of things for our country, of beautiful things, of successful things once again. I can only say that while the campaign is over, our work on this movement is really just beginning. We’re going to work immediately for the American people and we’re going to do a job where you’ll be so proud of your president—so proud—and I love this country, thank you very much.”
