Max B is one step closer to being released from prison.

On Saturday, via Max B’s official Twitter page, the rapper’s team provided an update on his release. Apparently, Max may be a free man sooner than expected. His team posted a letter stating that the 38 year old “Blow Me A Dub” rapper, born Charly Wingate, had been transferred to another facility – which suggests that his release date is quickly approaching.

The letter reads, “To all the Max B fans, friends, and supporters: We’re happy to announce another major update on Charly Wingate’s case. In result of his 75 years sentence being drastically reduced a few months ago, he has now been transferred to the East Jersey State Prison (EJSP) located in Rahway, NJ. This is the normal procedure for inmates who are nearing the end of their prison terms.”

In 2009, Max was sentenced to 75 years in prison on conspiracy charges pertaining to armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and felony murder. However, he accepted a plea deal for aggravated manslaughter, which significantly reduced his sentence.

In the meantime, fans can write Max B at the following address: Charly Wingate / SBI 000904278d / East Jersey State Prison / Lock Bag R / Rahway, NJ 07065.
