The beef between Kid Cudi and Drake has reached new heights.
Earlier this month, Kid Cudi checked himself into rehab for “depression and suicidal urges.” The 32 year old “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper issued a letter to his fans via Facebook, writing, “I am not at peace. I haven’t been since you’ve known me. If I didn’t come here, I wouldve done something to myself.”
“I simply am a damaged human swimming in a pool of emotions everyday of my life. Theres a ragin violent storm inside of my heart at all times. Idk what peace feels like. Idk how to relax. My anxiety and depression have ruled my life for as long as I can remember and I never leave the house because of it.”
Drake took the opportunity to kick Cudi while he was already down. On his newly released track, “Two Birds, One Stone”, Drizzy had no qualms about dissing Cudi, rapping, “You were the man on the moon / Now you go through phases / Life of the angry and famous / Rap like I know I’m the greatest and give you the tropical flavors / Still never been on hiatus / You stay xan and perked up so when reality set in you don’t gotta face it.”
Fans were shocked that Drizzy would attack Cudi during such a difficult time in his life. However, Drake claims he was simply responding to the things that Cudi had previously said about him.
Last month, Cudi tweeted, “Everyone thinks they’re soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them. Let me tell you something, The days of the f*ckery are over. The fake ones wont be lasting too much longer. My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These n*ggas dont give a f*ck about me. And they aint f*ckin with me.”
Despite his stay in treatment, Cudi caught wind of Drake’s track, and hopped onto Twitter to fire back at him, writing, “@Drake Say it to face, pussy. You think it’s a game. I wanna see you say it to my face. I’ll be out soon. Promise.” He has since deleted the tweet, but followed up with a more positive one.
