Inyaearhiphop is sad to report that Prince Be of P.M. Dawn has passed away at 46. Born Atrell Cordes, Prince Be died on Sunday in New Jersey after a long battle with diabetes and renal kidney failure. He was half of the 90’s R&B group with brother Jarrett Cordes. Prince Be is survived by his wife Mary, and three children: Christian, Mia, and Brandon.
Band mate Doc G announced the news via Facebook, writing, “Prince Be Rest In Peace Forever More, Pain from diabetes can’t harm you anymore, My Heart is at Peace B-Cuz U suffered so long, Tell Grandma I said Hi & Stay Blisstatic & Strong.” P.M. Dawn is best known for their song, “Set Adrift On Memory Bliss”. In 1991, the track skyrocketed to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group returned to the charts in 1992 with their song “I’d Die Without You”.
