Yesterday, Offset was arrested in front of a sushi restaurant for driving with a suspended license. The rapper’s license was suspended after he failed to pay an old parking ticket totaling $171. But when he failed to pay the fine on time and then missed his court date, the price went up to $316. Offset was released this morning, and quickly took to Instagram to post a photo of himself writing “SOLID” as the caption.
Offset’s lawyer, Drew Finding, says the rapper’s recent arrest wont interfere with his current probation status stating, “It won’t interfere [with his probation], because it’s not committing an offense, it’s just not realizing you hadn’t paid a fine and paying it.” In December, Offset accepted a plea deal of 5 years of probation after serving 8 months in jail on drug and weapon charges.
It’s unclear at this time if Offset will have to appear back in court.
