Only days after rapper Bankroll Fresh was gunned down, mourners gathered outside of the Blue Ivory club in downtown Atlanta Tuesday night to remember him. Bankroll Fresh, born Trentavious White, was killed Friday night outside of Street Execs Studio in northwest Atlanta after an unknown shooter fired off more than 50 rounds.
While hundreds attended the vigil, more than 100 business owners and residents who live near Street Execs Studio gathered on Defoor Place to discuss ways to have the studio completely shutdown. Bankroll’s death is the second shooting to occur outside of the studio in the past six months. The owners lives out of state, but are aware of the incidents.
Council Member Andre Dickens says the owners of the studio have run out of chances stating, “I told them to their face on Saturday that you got a second chance, I believe in second chances. I don’t know how we can shut you down specifically but it’s going to be my intent to figure out a way to do that. We need to have this business closed down and they can take their equipment somewhere else. Maybe a studio might need a special use permit that may need some sort of distance requirement between the studio and the next house or neighborhood.”
The owners of Street Execs Studio were not present Tuesday night, however, a spokesperson read the following statement, “Until we lay Mr. White to rest, Street Execs has ceased studio operations.”
Atlanta Police Chief George Turner stated, “This crime scene was pretty disturbing but, I’m confident that we will resolve and solve this case.” The police have yet to identify a suspect or a motive behind the shooting. However, Turner says they are reviewing surveillance video and are confident they will find the killer.
Bankroll Fresh will be buried on Saturday. R.I.P. Bankroll…
