Kanye West is all about self promotion and wants the entire Kardashian/Jenner to be down with him. So when news broke that his sister in law Kylie had signed a deal with Puma, Yeezy found it hard to believe. In the midst of a Twitter rant, Ye tweeted, “1000% there will never be a Kylie Puma anything. That’s on my family! 1000% Kylie is on Yeezy team!!!” and “Puma we gone give you your measly million dollars back!!! Never try to divide the family!!!”. Little did Kanye know, Kylie had already joined forces with Puma.
Adam Petrick, Global Director of Brand and Marketing for Puma released the following statement, “Kylie will be featured in the brand’s Spring/Summer women’s training campaign launching in April 2016. Kylie represents a fresh and exciting new era for fashion and we couldn’t think of a more fitting and influential female to headline this campaign for Puma.”
When asked by TMZ how he felt about Kylie’s new partnership with Puma, Kanye confessed, “She already signed. And I was mad for a little bit. I’m really happy for her, though.” Yeezy may be be disappointed in Kylie’s decision, but at least she didn’t completely abandon Yeezy and his brand. She was recently spotted out in New York decked out in a Yeezy ensemble paired with Adidas sneakers.
