I guess it isn’t possible for a black man to walk into the bank and withdraw $200,000 from his own account. It’s 2016, but the African American community is still facing racial profiling at its finest. On Friday, Blac Youngsta was detained by Atlanta police after he withdrew $200,000 from his account at a local Wells Fargo branch.
Youngsta was walking out of the bank when he detained and handcuffed by police in the parking lot on the corner of Peachtree Drive and Piedmont Road. Youngsta told 11Alive News, “They come bum rushing me at the car, put me on the ground, putting guns to my head. They targeted me just because I was young and black … I had too much money.”
Feeling suspicious, the bank manager placed a call to 911 requesting the police be dispatched because he believed Youngsta was trying to write a bad check for $24,000. Sargent Warren Pickard of the Atlanta Police Department released a written statement writing, “It was quickly discovered that the person providing the description to police had provided the wrong description of the suspect. It was determined that the occupants of the vehicle were not involved. They were immediately released. This incident did not directly involved Blac Youngsta, nor was he accused of committing a crime.”
A witness misidentified Youngsta as 39 year old Charles Darnell, who was later arrested and charged with first degree forgery.
Blac Youngsta withdrew such a large amount of money because he planned on purchasing a Mercedes-Maybach S600 worth $189,000. He claims he doesn’t write checks, and always dreamed of the day he could walk onto a car lot and purchase a car with cash.
Last month, Youngsta bought back Shy Glizzy’s chain for $10,000 from local rappers who snatched it while he was performing in Memphis.
