It looks like rapper Chief Keef is pushing his day job aside to join the political world. Yesterday, the “Finally Rich” emcee announced via Instagram that he would be running for Mayor of Chicago tweeting, “I’m running for mayor of Chicago… Vote for me!!! It’ll be the best thing done yet!!! Ya’ll gonna love me in the office…”. He followed up with a second tweeting reading, “Call Mayor of Chicago @rahmemanuel 312-744-5000 and tell him to stay the f*ck off the people’s music #StopTheViolenceNow”.

The 19 year old star has no intention of backing down from his beef with Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuek anytime soon. Last week, Chief Keef made a attempt to throw a benefits concert in Chicago via hologram aimed at stopping the violence in the city. The goal was to raise money for the families of his friend Marvin “Capo” Carr, a fellow Chicago rapper who was shot to death earlier this month, and 13 month old Dillan Harris, who was killed by a vehicle fleeing the scene. Unfortunately, Emanuel’s office cancelled the show stating that it posed a “significant public safety risk”.

Saturday night, Chief Keef made a second attempt to hold another hologram concert at Craze Fest in Hammond, Indiana, but it was cancelled shortly after it began when police rushed the stage and shut it down.

Will you be voting for Chief Keef?
