It has been reported that “Hot Nigga” rapper Bobby Shmurda was involved in a brawl while behind bars at Otis Bantum Correctional Center in New York on April 15th. Shmurda and a number of other inmates were enthralled in a full blown gang war when guards broke the fight up with pepper spray. Three of the inmates involved were Crips, and two were Bloods. Amongst the inmates fighting included an accused murderer, burglar, kidnapper, and a sodomist. That’s a pretty rough crowd!
Shmurda has been incarcerated since December 2014. He is currently awaiting trial on conspiracy, weapon, and drug charges, which is set to begin June 25th.
When approached by TMZ, Shmurda’s lawyer refused to comment on the incident.
In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Shmurda proclaimed his innocence stating, “I’m innocent. I’ll explain it to all of them. I’m just a young black kid coming from a nasty neighborhood. I made it out, and a lot of people don’t want to see that.”
