More bad news regarding Troy Ave. Today, prosecutors in Manhattan court announced that Troy, born Roland Collins, 30, was indicted for charges stemming from the deadly shooting at Irving Plaza on May 25th.

Assistant District Attorney Christine Keenan stated, “At this time I am filing a certificate of affirmative grand jury action with the court.” Troy’s charges are still sealed, so his attorney says it’s unclear at this time what he is being indicted for. The district attorney also requested a DNA swab from Troy, although the reason why has not been revealed. The New York rapper chose not to be present at the hearing.

While recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg at NYU Langone Medical Center, Troy Ave was arrested and booked on attempted murder and weapons possession charges. However, once the results of the ballistic test return, Troy’s charges could be upgraded to murder.

During the night of the shooting, Troy’s close friend and bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter was shot and killed. Police have since released footage showing the New York rapper opening fire inside of a VIP room at the venue.
