It’s that time of year again! Fans and members of the Hip Hop community are anxiously waiting to find out which rappers will appear on this year’s XXL Freshmen cover. With only a couple of months left before the big reveal, Tory Lanez revealed via Twitter that he is completely uninterested in the entire ordeal.

Last night, Lanez tweeted, “I passed on the XXL cover . Don’t b confused.” Lanez didn’t go into details, but basically he’s letting his fans know that he was offered a spot on the publication’s list, and he declined. It’s no shocker that Lanez was nominated, he’s extremely talented and has been putting in a lot of work this year, and it’s only April.

This isn’t the first time an artist has turned down a spot on the XXL Freshmen cover. Back in 2010, Drake and Nicki Minaj declined being on the list as well. Minaj stated, “With all due respect, we felt like we kinda had graduated from the freshman class. We felt that XXL missed the mark when they didn’t put us on the cover prior to that. They have to pay for that.”

Check out Lanez’ tweet below, as well as his latest video, “LA Confidential”.
