The Weeknd Debuts His Fourth Studio Album Ahead Of World Tour

The Weeknd - After Hours

Fourteen tracks long and feature-less.

Abel unpacks his fourth studio album with releasing After Hours, the next installment of his genre-defying catalog.

Amid the COVID-19 epidemic, The Weeknd is using music as a therapeutic vice to pacify the growing anxieties arising from a quarantined world.

Let the music heal us all during these dark times.”

In a future where social distancing has become the new standard, you can always count on XO’s unorthodox bellwether to provide gloomy pop blusters that draw nostalgic appeal – unearthing a tantalizing collective of records reminiscent of his early work.

With amassing a cult-like following over the extent of his profound run in music, The Weeknd has undeniably positioned himself as a pillar of influence when it comes to the musically-inclined. Earlier today, he successfully amassed 1M global pre-adds of the new album in advance of it’s release – setting a new Apple Music record and further complementing the sway behind his intrusive soundscape.

After Hours has received support by a number of preceding promotional stratagems, which include – two single releases: ‘Heartless‘ and ‘Blinding Lights’, alongside one promotional single, the album’s title track and short film. The Weeknd also released exclusive merch, a limited assortment of vinyl albums, tees, zines and more, which were only available for 24 hours. After shutting down the stage on Saturday Night Live  and dropping a capsule collection via READYMADE, the hype surrounding Abel’s latest effort is fervent and growing exponentially.

The After Hours World Tour was announced via Twitter and will feature Don Toliver, Sabrina Claudio and 88GLAM as supporting acts.

Toronto’s unparalleled singer-songwriter has had a rather sweeping album rollout, creating enough content to cover the span of a few month’s time.

There’s no telling what the imminent future will reveal for the international pop star, but at least we get to enjoy some self-quarantined R&B – After Hours is here.
