One of the suspects accused of killing Chinx is reportedly in talks for a plea deal.
On May 17, 2015, Chinx was murdered following an appearance at Brooklyn’s Red Wolf night club. The 31 year old “Dope House” rapper was driving his Porsche Panamera 4 around 4:00 a.m. near Main Street and Queens Boulevard, when he was shot 15 times.
Chinx’s friend,Antar Alziadi, who was in the car during the incident suffered two gunshots wounds, but survived. Apparently, Jamar Hill and Quincy Homere followed Chinx after he left the club. Both Hill and Homere were already incarcerated for different charges when they were arrested for Chinx’s murder in September. They face up to 25 years in prison if they are convicted.
Now, it has been revealed that Hill, one of the men accused of murdering Chinx, is in talks for a plea deal. On Monday, in a Queens courtroom, prosecutor Brian Hughes stated the following, “We are still working toward disposition.” Hill is due back in court on September 12.
Earlier this year, during Hill and Homere’s first trial, they were both were charged with second degree murder and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
At the time, Chinx’s widow, Janelli Caceres-Pickens, told reporters how she felt about seeing the suspects in court, “It’s hard to sit there and see the person that’s responsible for this and not be able to say anything, not be able to give any emotion. There’s so many things you wanna say. You wanna act out, you wanna be angry, but you can’t. I just pray that this goes quickly, and they get what they deserve.”
