Former Death Row Records CEO and Founder Marion “Suge” Knight was shot 6 early Sunday morning while attending Chris Brown’s pre-VMA party. The incident took place at 1Oak night club in Los Angeles around 1:30 a.m. Suge, 49, was able to walk out of the club unassisted, and was transported to the hospital by an ambulance. According to Knights’ family, he is currently in the ICU recovering from surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery. Two other victims were shot, a man and a woman. Both are being treated at local hospitals and expected to survive.
Hours after the shooting Chris Brown tweeted “It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bulls—!!”
Back in 2005, Knight was shot in the leg at a pre-VMA’s party hosted by Kanye West. Knight was also in the car with Tupac Shakur when he was fatally shot in 1996.
In 2006, due to financial troubles, Knight filed for bankruptcy for himself and Death Row Records claiming debt of more than $100 million in each filing.
