Record producer, songwriter, and Love and Hip Hop star Stevie J, 43, is facing two years in prison after a grand jury decided to indict him for failing to pay over $1 million dollars in child support payments. In 1999, Stevie J was court ordered to pay monthly child support payments of $8,500 for 2 children he has with an ex-girlfriend.
On June 14 of last year, the star was arrested in Atlanta for defaulting on the payments since 2001. As a condition to his $25,000 bail, he had to submit to random drug tests. After violating his probation for failing 10 random drug tests, Stevie J was hauled off to a 30 day inpatient rehab program for marijuana and cocaine abuse.
He will be arraigned on the charges on February 10 in New York City.
