Over the weekend, Troy Ave’s bodyguard, Ronald Edgar McPhatter was laid to rest in Brooklyn. The funeral took place at Brown Memorial Baptist Church on 484 Washington Avenue, where hundreds of friends and family members gathered to pay their respects and say their final goodbyes.

More than a week ago, McPhatter was shot in the stomach at Irving Plaza in New York. He was rushed to Beth Israel Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Three other victims were injured during the shooting, but McPhatter was the only fatality. At this time, it is unclear as to who murdered McPhatter.

Police have released surveillance footage that shows Troy Ave barging into a VIP green room backstage before opening fire. While recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg at NYU Langone Hospital, Troy was arrested and hit with attempted murder and gun charges.

Authorities are investigating the possibility that more than one person used the gun that Troy used during the shooting. Troy insists that he did not shoot McPhatter, and his lawyer has asked the public to email any tips or information surrounding the shooting to TroyAveInfo@LeemonLaw.com.
