Fred The Godson passes away.
Bronx rapper, Fred The Godson, has passed away after testing positive for coronavirus. On April 6, Fred, born Fredrick Thomas, revealed that he had been admitted to the hospital after contracting the virus.
Fred’s wife, LeeAnn Jemott, periodically provided updates on his condition as it continued to worsen. At one point, Jemott stated that her husband’s health was improving, “Fred is currently in the ICU. He is Cov-19 positive on a ventilator. However, he is progressing!”
But in the end, COVID-19 proved to be fatal for Thomas, who suffered from asthma, kidney disease, and diabetes. On Thursday, Thomas’ publicist, Matthew Conaway, stated that he died of complications caused by coronavirus at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York. He was only 35 years old.
A number of figures in the music industry have since come forward via social media to pay tribute to Thomas. His wife has yet to release an official statement.
Fred leaves behind two young daughters.
