Rihanna had to back out of her Grammy performance at the last minute, but the reason behind her decision may not have had anything to do with bronchitis. Reportedly, the 27 year old “Work” singer had a meltdown after feeling displeased with her pre-show rehearsal. Sources have revealed that she was screaming hysterically and expressing how unhappy she was before storming out of the venue. Rih was so angry that she decided not to even stay and watch the show.
Two days prior to the Grammys, Rih gave a stunning performance at Lionel Richie’s charity event, and even sounded great during her rehearsal so it appeared very odd that her voice had suddenly deteriorated. However, a rep from her camp stands firm that bronchitis was the reason for Rih’s backing out last minute.
Quick to apologize to her fans, Rih hopped on Twitter tweeting, “So sorry I couldn’t be there. Thanks Grammys and CBS for your support tonight.”
This is the second time Rihanna has had to cancel a Grammy performance. Back in 2009 she pulled out after Chris Brown (her boyfriend at the time) assaulted her.
