Talk about embarrassing… Last Friday, Rick Ross headed to The White House to attend President Barack Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative, which aims to keep youths of color out of trouble. As Obama’s speech was coming to a close, the attention suddenly shifted to Ross when his ankle monitor began beeping loudly. Ross appeared to be as shocked as everyone else in the room, although the ankle monitor allegedly has a bad habit of randomly beeping.
Other artist in attendance include Chance The Rapper, Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Common, Ludacris, Wale, Pusha T, Busta Rhymes, DJ Khaled and Timbaland. Those artist were hand-picked by The White House because they “found ways to engage on the issues of criminal justice reform and empowering disadvantaged young people across the country” through their art and nonprofit work.
Ross was ordered to wear the ankle monitor as a result of his assault and kidnapping charges stemming from last summer. He allegedly pistol whipped, assaulted, and held his groundskeeper hostage at his Georgia mansion.
