Crenshaw rapper Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, 29, was arrested Wednesday night after leaving his studio. Nipsey was pulled over at approximately 11:20 p.m. when Burbank police noticed he was driving without license plates. During the stop, the police noticed a bottle of codeine without a label, soda, and a styrofoam cup filled with ice.
Unable to provide a prescription for the codeine, Nipsey was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in addition to an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license. Lt. Adam Cornils of the Burbank Police department stated, “People who abuse codeine to get high commonly acquire it either from friends/associates or through fraudulent prescriptions, and remove the prescription label to mask where it came from and who it was prescribed to.”
The “Feeling Myself” rapper was released after posting $1,000 bail. See his response below!
