News broke Thursday that Philadelphia rapper Freeway had been diagnosed with kidney failure and would need treatment. The 37 year old State Property emcee stated that he was informed of the diagnosis following a routine checkup with his doctor. Upon hearing the news, Freeway was immediately rushed in for emergency dialysis. His manager Amir stated, “First treatment was successful and he’s awake and smiling”. As of yesterday, he has already received two treatments.
To all the Freeway fans… don’t fret! Freeway has already taken to his Instagram to inform all of his fans that he is doing much better, even posting a photo of himself from his hospital bed with the caption, “Thank you All for your prayers and support! I’m doing much better! Soon as I’m 100% #FREEFEST is Back on!!!! Salaams!”.
Over the weekend Freeway performed in Michigan, and is set to headline his Free Fest showcase in Philly tomorrow, however, it’s apparent there will be a change of plans. The event is a a hip-hop themed festival with a DJ showcase, freestyle cyphers, venders, food and much more.
