Pop Smoke Cancelled Brooklyn Show Days Before Death Over “Gang Member Concerns”

by Yellah Bone

Pop Smoke reportedly feared for his life in the days leading up to his death.

Sadly, Pop Smoke was shot and killed during an home invasion in Los Angeles earlier this week. While investigators are still in search of a motive behind the slaying, some disturbing details have surfaced.

According to TMZ, the “Christopher Walking” rapper cancelled one of his shows due to anticipation of gang members in the audience. Pop was scheduled to perform at Kings Theater in Brooklyn last Sunday night, but ultimately pulled out of the performance.

Pop Smoke took to Instagram to break the news to his fans writing, “Unfortunately, NYPD wouldn’t let me perform.” Law enforcement says they played no role in the show being cancelled and that Pop made the decision himself.

As previously reported, Pop was out on bail after being arrested for interstate transport of a stolen vehicle. He was ordered to stay away from gang members, and clearly there would be a great amount of gang affiliates in attendance.

Pop Smoke’s autopsy results have revealed that he died from a gunshot wound to the torso.
