Today, in a now deleted tweet, Joey Badass revealed via Twitter that the NYPD has cancelled his upcoming performance at Irving Plaza. Joey didn’t go into detail about the cancellation, but the reason is obvious.

It’s only been one week since the deadly shooting took place at Irving Plaza during T.I.’s concert. Surveillance showed an injured Troy Ave barging into a VIP green room located backstage before opening fire. Police arrested Troy at the hospital where he was recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He is now facing charges for attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and illegal possession of a firearm. His charges may be upgraded to murder once the results of the ballistics come back.

Joey’s performance is still listed on Irving Plaza’s website, despite his claims. When Complex reached out to the NYPD for comments on the cancellation, a spokesperson for the department said they were unaware of it. Either way, it’s obvious that no one should be taking the stage at the venue anytime soon. Vince Staples, Mac Miller, A$AP Ferg, and Lil Uzi Vert are all slated to perform at Irving Plaza in June.
