Nipsey Hussle’s alleged killer may be tried next month.

The man accused of murdering Nipsey Hussle is expected to stand trial within the next few weeks. According to The New York Daily News, Eric Holder appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom, where Judge Robert Perry told him that he is hoping to start the trial soon.

“Mr. Holder, as you know, this is an important case and a serious case. These cases take time to get ready for trial. You have the right to a speedy trial.” Perry then asked Holder, “Are you OK that we continue this case, and you come back on March 18 and we do our best to start your trial within 30 days. Are you OK with that?” Holder replied, “Yeah.”

Almost a year ago, on March 31, 2019, Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, was shot and killed in front of his The Marathon Clothing Store in Los Angeles, California. After paramedics administered CPR on the scene, he was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Last May, Holder was indicted by a grand jury last May on one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon by a grand jury. In addition, he’s also been indicted on two new counts of assault with a firearm.

If convicted, Holder faces life in prison.
