It looks like Nipsey Hussle may have dodged a bullet. Last June, the 30 year old “Ocean Views” rapper was caught driving around with codeine in his cup mixed with ice and soda. Unable to provide a prescription for the cough syrup, Nipsey was arrested for that, as well as driving with a suspended license. Nipsey was charged with possession of a controlled substance as well as an outstanding outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license.
Prosecutors have agreed with his legal team to dismiss the additional charge of riding around with the suspicious syrup in accordance with his no contest plea. Following the plea, Nipsey received a 5 day jail sentence, but only has to serve two due to being credited with three days served. He is expected to serve the remaining days before July 1.
As far as to why Nipsey was drinking the codeine, his manager says it “was for the beating his throat endures due to his strenuous tour schedule”.
It was recently announced that Nipsey is expecting a baby with actress Lauren London.
