Craig Sager dies at 65.

Today is a sad day for the sports world. Legendary NBA sideline reporter Craig Sager has passed away after a 2 year battle with an aggressive form of leukemia. This saddening news comes only days after being inducted into the Sports Broadcasting Hall Of Fame.

In April 2014, Sager announced that he had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, causing him to miss the playoffs and a great deal of the following season to undergo two bone marrow transplants. In March 2016, Sager revealed that his leukemia was no longer in remission, and that doctors had given him three to six months to live.

Turner Sports president, David Levy, released the following statement, “Craig Sager was a beloved member of the Turner family for more than three decades and he has been a true inspiration to all of us. There will never be another Craig Sager. His incredible talent, tireless work ethic and commitment to his craft took him all over the world covering sports.”

“While he will be remembered fondly for his colorful attire and TNT sideline interviews he conducted with NBA coaches and players, it’s the determination, grave and will to live he displayed during his battle with cancer that will be his lasting impact. Our thought and prayers are with Craig’s wife, Stacy, and the entire Sager family during this difficult time. We will forever be Sager Strong.”

Sager is survived by his wife, Stacy and five children, Riley, Ryan, Kacy, Craig Jr., and Krista.
