When asked how Chinx’s death would impact Hip Hop, Harris stated, “I think it’s hurting hip-hop because you’re supposed to have unity. You’re supposed to want to build each other up. You’re supposed to be happy to see someone make it out the violence that we come from. So with people hating on you, the artists don’t want to go back to their neighborhoods and show love because of things like this happening. They think they’re being very stand-off-ish. People need them because they give the people hope. It’s a gift and a curse. The artists are smartening up now, but the people still need them.”His widow, Janelli Caceres, wrote on Facebook,
Chinx’s widow Janelli Pickens stated via Facebook, “I wish a slow torturous death on who ever did this to my baby.”
