Meek Mill is being sued over a fatal shooting that took place last year.

Back in December, four people were shot following a Meek Mill concert at the Toyota Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, Connecticut.

Sadly, New Haven residents Travis Ward, 31, and Jaquan Graves, 20, succumbed to their injuries. Now, families member of Ward, and one of the injured parties, Nathan Mitchell, is suing Meek Mill, as well as the venue.

On Tuesday, the families attorney, Joel Faxon, filed a lawsuit in Waterbury Superior Court claiming that proper security wasn’t provided at the show and necessary measures weren’t taken to control the crowd and ensure the safety of fans.

Faxon pointed out that Meek’s lyrics incite violence, “With song titles like ‘body count’ and ‘oh kill’em’ that praise indiscriminate killing and mayhem, the potential for tragic incidents like this should have been properly anticipated and planned for by Meek Mill, his concert promoters and the Oakdale Theatre.”

He continued, “The venue security was grossly understaffed and ill-equipped to deal with the hazardous environment presented by any Meek Mill concert. A strong police presence was required. They were innocent bystanders who ended up in a war zone.”

There have been shootings at two of Meek Mill’s other concerts, in Danbury, Connecticut and Wilmington, Delaware.

The family is seeking more than $15,000 in damages.
