Masego Finds Solace Through In-Home Shenanigans With New ‘Veg Out (Wasting Thyme)’ Video

Masego - Veg Out (Wasting Thyme)

Masego – self-taught singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and more – introduces the world to his self-described genre TrapHouseJazz with debuting the ‘Veg Out (Wasting Thyme)’ lyric video.

Musically, the Jamaican-born multidisciplinary talent is known for fusing elements of Jazz and piano-driven pleas into his musical styling. With a quarantined aesthetic supported by Masego’s in-home visualizer, a fish-eye lens provides perspective into his whimsical spelling of “Veg Out”.

Whether it’s the mixture of medicine cabinet supplements used to creatively display the song’s title, or the slightly embarrassing miscue during an innocent beer-pong reenactment – Masego appears to be enjoying his unprecedented staycation as a result of COVID-19.

The ‘Tadow‘ creator proudly celebrates gold status for the viral hit, which has amassed five million views on his NPR Music Tiny Desk session for the record.

Naturally, Masego – born Micah Davis – took to that specific stage name as a form of homage to his South-African heritage. Moreover, the referenced moniker means “Blessing” and “Prosperity” in the Tswana language. In retrospect, Sego’s ever shifting, melting pot psyche is rooted in his diverse background – presenting even more of a reason to stan.

With a comedic approach on combating the monotony of being bored in the house or in the house bored, hopefully Masego is slated to deliver more stay-at-home bops to serenade the moment.
