Logic scores a phenomenal deal with Def Jam.

During a recent sitdown with Beats 1 Radio’s Zane Lowe, Logic opened up about once living in poverty, and how his life has changed drastically after signing a $30 million contract with Def Jam.

This may come as a surprise to fans, but prior to his rise to fame, Logic resorted to Section 8 housing and food stamps to make ends meet. But after securing a $30 million deal with his label, Logic feels relieved – knowing that he will be financially stable for the rest of his life.

“When I first signed my deal, the advance was like 200 grand. So going from Section 8 and food stamps and welfare to 200 grand was life-changing, but the life change I’m talking about is the $30 million-dollar deal I just signed. That shit freaked me out. I felt like a target, like that was the moment I felt like oh my god.”

“I woke up and I realized how much money I amassed. It’s not necessarily about things monetarily … but I woke up and was like, ‘I never have to do anything for the rest of my life.” Logic says he now feels “free” to make music.

The Everybody rapper first discussed his new deal on “Wassup” – a single featured on his newly released mixtape, Bobby Tarantino II On the track, he raps, “I just updated my old deal. Told Def Jam no less than 20 mill…and they cut that shit!”
