Lil Wayne Suing His Daddy For $8 Million Dollars

Earlier this week, new broke that Lil Wayne is suing his mentor and “daddy” Birdman for $8 million dollars. Wayne says that Birdman violated their contract by refusing to release his new album Tha Carter V. The $8 million dollars is money Birdman owes Wayne for an advance he never received.

As to when Tha Carter V will be released, Birdman says “in due time”. Apparently that wasn’t good enough for Wayne who will now ask a judge to free him from his contract and Cash Money. Tha Carter V hasn’t been given a release date yet.

If you think that’s messy, listen at this. Not only does Wayne want to leave Cash Money, he has plans to take all of his artists with him. Drake, Nicki Minaj, Christina Millian, Lil Twist, and Young Money’s president Mack Maine are all signed to the label.

Wayne recently dropped a mixtape entitled Sorry 4 The Wait 2. On one of the tracks called Coco (Remix) Wayne raps “I ain’t trippin’, I got Barbie, I got Drake too.”

UPDATE!

Lil Wayne is reportedly now suing Birdman for a whooping $51 million dollars. He wants off Cash Money and feels he is entitled to take millions with him. Wayne will be asking a judge to name him a joint copyright owner of all Young Money recordings, including Drake and Nicki Minaj’s work.

Originally, Wayne was suing for Birdman for $8 million dollars for an advance he never received. He claims he was also supposed to receive an additional $2 million dollars upon completion of Tha Carter V.

So far, Wayne has not received any money.
