Today Lil’ Kim’s former drug kingpin boyfriend Damion “World” Hardy was found guilty in Brooklyn Federal Court of ordering the murder of six people. Hardy, 40, was the leader of a drug gang called the Cash Money Brothers that were accused of committing multiple murders and running a drug ring in the Lafayette Gardens projects in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
The Cash Money Brothers were one of the most prominent and violent gangs in the 1990’s. It wasn’t until 2004 that a schizophrenic Hardy was convicted of attempted murder, kidnapping, and drug dealing. However, the case was dragged out for almost ten years because his lawyers argued that he was not sane enough to face trial due to doctors diagnosing him with schizophrenia.
His death wishes were carried out by the Cash Money Brothers hitman Aaron (E-Bay) Granton. During the ten year delay, some of the members of the gang came forward, pleading guilty and giving evidence against Hardy that ultimately lead to his conviction.
Hardy is facing life in prison.
