Lexi Alijai passes away.
The start of 2020 has already proven to be quite devastating for the Hip Hop community. On January 1st, it was announced that Minnesota rapper, Lexii Alijai, born Alexis Alijai Lynch, had passed away. Lynch was only 21, and her cause of death has yet to be released.
Following the shocking news of her death, many stars came forward to pay tribute to Lynch. Kehlani, who had previously enlisted Lexi for 2015’s “Jealous”, took to Instagram, writing, “i’m so sick. i’m so angry. i’m confused and my heart is broken. i don’t know why this happened. i don’t know what you’ve ever done but be brilliant, kind, strong, gentle, compassionate… my lil fuckin baby dawg. you got my heart on the floor right now lex.”
The SweetSexySavage singer added, “you were such a star to me because every word you spoke was true. every word you wrote was honest. you asked questions with wide eyes, you laughed and covered your mouth cuz you was always so shy even tho everyone who ever seen you said you was so damn gorgeous. fuck imma miss you.”
Wale and popular YouTube star, Jay Versace, also paid tribute to Lexi via social media.
Lexi rose to fame by recording covers of various songs on YouTube and SoundCloud.
Alijai was the granddaughter of Zapp band founder, Robert Troutman.
