A few weeks ago we reported that Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars Kourtney Kardashian, 36, and Scott Disick, 32, were calling it quits after nine years and three kids together. Kourtney felt it was best to walk away from the situation after photos of Scott and another woman hugged in Monaco surfaced and made headlines.
Kourtney has been consulting with well known divorce attorney Laura Wasser to seek sole custody of their children: Mason, 5, Penelope, 3, and Reign, 7 months. Although Kourt wants to have their children the majority of the time, Scott is likely to receive visitation. According to Goldie Schon, a California based family law attorney, Scott is entitled to “continuous payouts” from Kourtney since she is the higher earner.
Schon continued on stating, “Children have the right to live in the lifestyle of both parents regardless of where they are. While Scott may only have the kids 10 percent of the time, because [Kourtney] is such a high-income earner it’s very likely she would pay him child support. If Scott wants it and pushes it he will likely get child support from her. Kourtney has to fear her reputation and her status as a public figure. She likely has her own skeletons that Scott can use as a way of negotiating.”
It’s a shame that Kourtney and Scott were never married, yet he may be receiving a check from her until their children are 18 year old.
