Kodak Black says Lil Yachty and D.R.A.M. swagger jacked his broccoli slang.
Kodak Black spent a good amount of time behind bars this year, so it’s going to take him awhile to catch up on all of the music he missed. However, last night, the 19 year old Florida rapper came across a song that didn’t receive his approval – “Broccoli” by D.R.A.M. featuring Lil Yachty.
Via Instagram, Kodak Black posted a video of himself listening to “Broccoli”, when he suddenly became disgusted with what he was hearing and called out Lil Boat and D.R.A.M., stating, “What the f*ck, man? Who these n*ggas is, chopping my lil swag, man, talking about broccoli?. For now on, I don’t smoke broccoli no more. I smoke cantaloupe—since these square ass n*ggas trying to steal my lil swag.”
In a second video, Kodak suggested that Yachty and D.R.A.M. use the “spinach” instead of “broccoli” in the future, “You n*ggas can’t say broccoli no more. You n*ggas gotta say spinach or some sh*t. You n*ggas don’t smoke broccoli, y’all smoke spinach.” Kodak first used the broccoli term back in 2014 on his track “No Flockin” – where he rapped, “Told the doctor I’m a healthy kid, I smoke broccoli.”
It wasn’t long before Yachty responded to Kodak via Twitter, writing, “N*ggas hate me but ion care bout that I need my credit. I did too much this year. #respectme.” He later followed up with a Instagram video, where he revealed that he always shouts out Kodak and gives him credit before performing “Broccoli”, and that he could care less about weed anyway because he doesn’t even smoke.
D.R.A.M. has yet to respond.
