Kevin Gates drops off a surprise EP, Chained To The City.
After spending ninth months behind bars for an outstanding warrant stemming from 2013, Kevin Gates was released from prison on January 10th. Since his release, things haven’t been easy for Gates – he has been restricted from leaving the state the Illinois, which has forced him to cancel a number of shows, and left him unable to see his wife and kids.
But through it all, Gates has remained strong and humble, and even managed to release a surprise EP for his fans entitled, Chained To The City. The new project serves as Gates’ first official release since getting out prison, and is also the follow-up to 2017’s By Any Means 2.
The new EP comes laced with 3 tracks – “Change Lanes”, “Vouch”, and “Let It Sing”, and no guest appearances. All three songs seem to address Gates’ recent incarceration and the aftermath.
