Comedian Katt Williams, 44, was arrested Monday morning at a pool supply store in Gainesville, Georgia on a battery charge after punching an employee. Allegedly, Williams got into a heated argument with the employee, and then threw an object at him before punching him in the face.
Around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to an assault call at a pool supply store and found Williams “lying on the ground with his hands behind his back as though he was ready to go to jail”. The assaulted employee said that Williams threw a pair of goggles at him before going behind the counter and punching him at least once.
Gainesville police Sergeant Kevin Holbrook noted that Williams was “on the ground in prone position outside the business”. If you’ve been following Williams’ career over the years, then you know jail is nothing new to him.
It is unclear as to what stemmed the argument.
Williams was released at approximately 1:34 p.m. on $5,000 bail.
