In light of April Fool’s Day, I thought we were all being punk’d last night when it was announced that Kanye West’s “The Life Of Pablo” album would be available outside of Tidal. But it’s true folks, all 19 tracks of TLOP can now be streamed via Spotify, Apple Music, Rhapsody and Google Play. The album is also available for purchase on KanyeWest.com for $20.00. Def Jam released a statement to The New York Times stating that TLOP is “a newly updated, remixed, and remastered version.”
Back In February, Ye tweeted, “My album will never never never be on Apple. And it will never be for sale… You can only get it on Tidal”, but it looks like Ye has decided to step outside of the box. Earlier this week, Tidal reported that West’s album was streamed 250 million times within the first ten days of being released and 400 million times as of Monday, March 28. It also illegally downloaded 500,000 times during that time, which was a huge financial loss for Ye.
