After cancelling the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour, Kanye West has been hospitalized.
On Monday, around 1:20 p.m., Los Angeles police responded to a medical welfare call on the 800th block of N. Laurel Avenue. Apparently, Kanye West was at his trainer’s home when he suddenly began “acting erratically.” Police found no indication of criminal activity, but with the help of his management team and physician, they were able to convince Ye to go to the hospital for his own health and safety.
West is currently under observation at UCLA Medical Center. According to a close source, West is being treated for “exhaustion”, and has been suffering from sleep deprivation. Ye’s hospitalization comes after several days of outlandish behavior. Not only did Ye verbally attack Jay Z and Beyonce during one of his shows, he also suddenly cancelled the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour.
Kim Kardashian was set to appear at the Angel Ball in New York City on Monday night, but announced she would not attend the event and immediately hopped on a plane back to Los Angeles upon learning hearing the news about her husband.
An undisclosed source released the following statement, “He’s having a nervous breakdown. He’s surrounded by all these crazy people, but there’s nobody he listens to or who can rein him in. He’s spiraling further and further out of control. Basically everything crazy he does is ‘art’ — canceling his tour is ‘art’ — he is becoming more and more unpredictable.”
“His state of mind goes back a long way, perhaps to the death of his mother, which he never got over. That combined with his chaotic life — he often stays up and works for 48 hours at a time when he’s on, and calls his team at 3 a.m. Kanye needs a stronger support system, he needs to take some time to fall to the ground and start from scratch again. He’s so talented, but he’s his own worst enemy.”
