We haven’t received much music from Jhene Aiko this year, but Penny is back and plans on closing the year with a new song, “Wasted Love Freestyle 2018.” On the new loosie, Aiko addresses a breakup, and the toll that it has taken on her.
“How did love get away from us? / Now’s my time, I should wait for love / Waste of time, what a waste of love / You became my life.”
It’s unclear if she is referring to Big Sean on the track, but last month she covered her tattoo of him. However, she quickly took to social media to make it clear that she and Sean were doing just fine, “i covered ALL my tats w/ a big ass Dragon w/ a Phoenix wing breathing life and light into a new galaxy. NEW ART! NO BEEF! ALL LOVE!.”
