Back in December, Janet Jackson announced that she would have to postpone several 2016 dates of her “Unbreakable World Tour” because she was advised to undergo surgery. She took to Twitter tweeting, “I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. There will be no further comment.”
Although details were scarce, a unnamed source chimed in and reported that Jackson was undergoing immediate surgery due to a growth on her vocal cords. With little to run with, a number of blogs and news outlets began to post stories claiming that Jackson is battling cancer. In an attempt to calm down her fans and address the rumors, Jackson tweeted, “The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer.” She even posted a short lyric video of her song “The Great Forever”, which goes a little further into addressing the rumors.
Jackson is expected to kick off her “Unbreakable World Tour” on March 30 at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham, England.
