iLoveMakonnen has had enough of the music industry. Only weeks after announcing that he is no longer signed to Drake’s OVO Sound label, the 26 year old “Tuesday” singer has revealed that he will be retiring.
In a series of tweets, Makonnen addressed the negativity in the rap game and why he has decided to call it quits, tweeting, “If I could release music how I wanted I wouldn’t retire, but then if did that, so many would have to to just retire, so ill accept retire. Rap game Wack, everyone flexed up except Makonnen, that’s why I’m retiring. Lol this so good. Nobody wants sneaky lady, nobody tryna hear that real music, so I need exit and let the others prevail.”
He went on to say, “No dream, the world doesn’t need Makonnen, the world needs people to be themselves like Makonnen. The game don’t need Me, the game need more like me , more that will be themselves and not afraid like everyone else! It’s all love. It’s ok guys, u have me until 17.” Makonnen fans definitely didn’t see this one coming. Last month, he dropped his Drink More Water 6 project, and announced a joint tour with Lil B.
