Last night, fans were alarmed to learn that Gucci Mane had deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts. Being that Gucci is currently in prison, social media was a reliable way for him to communicate with his fans and drop new music. Gucci is usually very active via Twitter and Instagram, so the sudden disappearance seemed strange. Many believed that Gucci may have even deleted his accounts because he had been released from prison.
Just when it began to seem like we’d be left without an explanation, Gucci’s engineer, Sean Paine, chimed in to shed some light on the situation. Paine stated that Guwop hopped off of social media because “he wants to wait until he gets out [of prison] to build anticipation and resurface everything under the new Gucci brand”.
According to Gucci’s label, 1017 Records, he will be released from prison in March.
