G Herbo Pleads Not Guilty To Fraud Scheme

by Yellah Bone

G Herbo has found himself in a heap of trouble, but claims he is innocent. On Wednesday, the Chicago rapper appeared before a Massachusetts judge via Zoom from his Los Angeles home and pleaded not guilty to federal charges of wire fraud conspiracy and identity theft. If convicted, Herbo, born Herbert Randall Wright III, 26, is facing up to 6 years in prison.

The charges against the Chicago rapper stem from a $1.5 million fraud scheme in which G Herbo has been accused of using stolen credit card information to pay for luxury vacations, lavish cars, and designer puppies. He is currently free on $75,000 bond and has surrendered his passport. In addition, Herbo has agreed to submit to drug tests, and is barred from opening any new lines of credit. Herbo is also barred from unloading property worth more than $50,000.

Others defendants charged in the case include Herb’s manager and promoter, Antonio Strong, Joseph “Joe Rodeo” Williams, Stephen Hayes Jr., Demario Sorrells and Terrence Bender. The group teamed up together allegedly obtaining stolen credit card information from “dark web sites.” They allegedly shared the information with each other through text messages, phone calls, emails, and messages on social media platforms.

G Herbo’s team released a statement saying he “maintains his innocence and looks forward to establishing his innocence in court.”
